The Conscious Foundation is an independent organization that is working to drive long-lasting change for people and communities. Their current focus areas include education, clean water, and strengthening women around the world.

The H&M Workplace design for the Conscious Foundation is located on level four of 246 Broughton, in Savannah, GA. *site model was a collaborative effort

In addition to being inspired by the cause of the H&M Conscious Foundation being the education and strengthening of women around the world, research indicated that the majority of the workforce at H&M and Broughton Street was comprised up of mostly women.

This inspired the idea of designing a space inspired by women and created especially for women to succeed. The concept model follows suit and is abstractly inspired by the contours of the feminine form. The wooden elements represents the “emphatic” element, while the “evolution” element is represented in the more curving paper elements of the model. *Concept model was a collaborative effort

The concept of “emphatic evolution” translated into the idea of a circle and elements radiating from the circle as seen with the staircase and offices in the level four floor plan. The H&M Conscious program required mostly closed offices. A variety of lounge options is also provided. Bar seating is provided in the back, as well as lounge seating in the lobby and balcony.

A mezzanine level was added to the level four program for additional meeting space (formal, classroom, and living room) and an additional yoga studio.

The lobby in the H&M Conscious Foundation seeks to impress with it’s use of white and blue marble along the walls. A large H&M logo and a green wall decorates the walls.

The west wall features a large green wall and H&M sign.

The back wall features a sit-and- stand option for the user to provide an escape from their offices and allow the users to work in a variety of different- and possibly more comfortable- settings.

This view depicts the open work-space for volunteers, where the user can personalize their wall as necessary. It also shows the mezzanine level and beautiful white and blue marble along the east wall. The white brick along the mezzanine honors the city of Savannah and its historic architecture.
